After-School Karate Program (Ages 6 & up)

Looking for a safe, active and productive way for your child to spend the afternoon after school?

The Horizon Martial Arts After-School Karate Program combines school pickup, martial arts training and supervised after-school care in one convenient program.

Students are picked up directly from school, participate in a daily 45-minute Karate class and remain in our supervised after-school program until they are picked up by a parent or guardian.

Blantyre Public School Pickup

Students attending Blantyre Public School are picked up directly from school at dismissal each weekday. We’ll then make the short walk over to the Dojo.

Pickup Time: 3:10 PM
Arrival at Horizon: Approximately 3:20 PM

Students From Other Schools Welcome

Our program is open to students from other local schools as well.

Families may:

  • Arrange their own transportation

  • Coordinate transportation with another family

  • Use a private children's transportation service

Once students arrive at Horizon Martial Arts, they join the regular After-School Karate Program and may remain with us until 6:00 PM.

Tuesday & Thursday

3:10 PM – Pickup from Blantyre Public School
3:20 PM – Arrival at Horizon Martial Arts
3:20–3:45 PM – Snack and free time
3:45–4:30 PM – Karate Class
4:30–6:00 PM – Homework, arts & crafts, reading, quiet games, supervised activities and pickup

Monday, Wednesday & Friday

3:10 PM – Pickup from Blantyre Public School
3:20 PM – Arrival at Horizon Martial Arts
3:20–4:00 PM – Snack and free time
4:00–4:45 PM – Karate Class
4:45–6:00 PM – Homework, arts & crafts, reading, quiet games, supervised activities and pickup

What Happens After Karate?

After class, students have the opportunity to relax and recharge after a busy school day.

Activities may include:

  • Homework time

  • Reading

  • Drawing and colouring

  • Arts and crafts

  • Board games and quiet games

  • Social time with friends

  • Quiet downtime

Our goal is to provide a positive and structured environment where children can stay active, learn new skills and enjoy their afternoon.
